 Tigran Sargsyan's resignation from the position of Armenia's prime minister was not conditioned by any external factors, deputy director of the Caucasus Institute, political expert, Sergey Minasyan, said at today's press-conference. "The rumors being actively spread do not always reflect reality. I think that Tigran Sargsyan could not have problems with foreign partners", - Minasyan said. 

He recalled that Sargsyan had a substantial work experience with the Western financial institutions. He well prepared the processes of Armenia's signing the Association agreement with the European Union. "In a short time, however, he was able to accelerate Armenia's Customs Union [CU] accession process ", he said.   

He added that Armenia's CU accession depended on the political decision by the authorities, and Sargsyan would hardly have had problems with the Russian side.  "What problems could the course mate of the head of "Gasprom" have? Taking into consideration these and other important circumstances, I think that Tigran Sargsyan's resignation was by 99.9% due to the social and economic problems of the country", - the expert concluded.
