Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan instructed the tax authorities to reduce the pressure on economic entities, Gurgen Arsenyan, MP from the Prosperous Armenia Faction, told journalists at a roundtable dedicated to the human rights problems. Arsenyan said that he received that information from reliable sources.
"If the reports of those sources are true, I will personally welcome this initiative of the Prime Minister. The more the pressure on business declines, the more the entrepreneurs' possibilities to create new jobs will grow", he said.
On November 27, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan suggested restricting the number of tax inspections in economic entities to once a year. "It is necessary to stimulate the local producers in every possible way to ensure a competitive field from the macroeconomic viewpoint and to considerably reduce various interventions in the economic entities' activities", he said. Additional inspections can be conducted in exceptional cases only, he said. The additional inspections must be held with the Prime Minister's consent, he added.
