Armenians of the Czech Republic organized a picket in front of the Czech President Milos Zeman's residence, where the president was receiving his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan on 30 January. The citizens were protesting against the growing migration and unemployment in Armenia amid frequent ceasefire breaches in the Karabakh conflict zone.
The picketing Armenians were carrying banners reading "Serzhik Leave!" "We are against the Customs Union!" "Put an end to oligarchy!" Our compatriots in Prague are sure that Armenia's accession to the CU was a personal decision of Serzh Sargsyan. They call it an inadmissible and anti-constitutional decision that neglected the public opinion.
President Sargsyan is on a visit to Prague from Wednesday to Friday. Agreements were signed between Armenia and the Czech Republic to boost cooperation in the fields of economy, industry, anti-crime activities, healthcare and medicine, emergency situations etc. Milos Zeman has accepted Serzh Sargsyan's invitation to visit Armenia with a big group of businessmen.
