Russia is not going to interfere in the customs activities on the Armenian-Nagorno-Karabakh border, Chief of the Federal Customs Service of Russia Andrey Belyaninov told journalists in Moscow. He said that there will be no customs office on the Armenian-Nagorno-Karabakh border in the near future.
Belyaninov said that his representative will shortly come to Armenia to consider problems related to Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union. "He will not interfere in the work of the Armenian customs service. The key problem he is to consider the problem of language. The Customs Union members use Russian, while the Armenian customs officers use Armenian," Belyaninov said. To note, recently some sources reported that they in the Eurasian Economic Union expect Armenia to join them without Nagorno-Karabakh within the borders recognized by the UN.
