The Armenian Parliament is facing a legal crisis: all parliamentary forces except for the ruling Republican Party are boycotting the work of the counting commission - as a result, the Republicans are unable to elect the parliament's speaker.
ArmInfo's correspondent reports from the parliament that as a result of the boycott the counting commission does not have enough votes for counting.
Acting Speaker of the Parliament Eduard Sharmazanov did not give a clear answer how the Republicans were going to solve this problem. He just said that they would try to find a constitutional solution.
In an interview to ArmInfo representatives of Prosperous Armenia and Orinats Yerkir parties said that they had not yet decided if they would vote or not. Earlier Armenian National Congress and ARFD refused to vote.
The Republican Party's nominee for Speaker is Galust Sahakyan, the opposition nominees are MPs from Armenian National Congress and Heritage Hrant Bagratyan and Ruben Hakobyan.
