The disassembly of a railway line at Arteni station was part of scheduled work, Spokesman of the South Caucasus Railway CJSC Vahe Davtyan said on Wednesday in response to the media claiming that it was an illegal action.
He said that one line was enough for normal traffic in that section.
"We are not going to close the station. As regards the reports that the line was disassembled by the Russian side, I should say that we have no Russian or Armenian sides in our company. We are a business entity that is an affiliate of a Russian company, and all of us do the same work," Davtyan said, adding that the media referred to the acting director of the Arteni-Ararat station Artur Arakelyan even though he had no contacts with the press.
