As many as 70% of Armenian citizens object to the authorities' decision to join the Customs Union, the leader of National Self-Determination Union Party Paruyr Hayrikyan told journalists on Friday.
Referring to his personal survey, he said that only 23% support this idea, 28% want Armenia to sign an association agreement with the EU. "The rest want the country to be independent. And since the association agreement does not question our sovereignty, it turns out that almost 70% of our people support European integration and object to the Customs Union," Hayrikyan said.
