Armenia has returned its 5 citizens (a family with 3 children) after 4 years of custody in Azerbaijan, Tigran Balayan, Spokesperson of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, said in a tweet.
"#Armenia returns its 5 citizens (a family with 3 children), who were in #Azerbaijan custody for last 4 years," Balayan wrote on Twitter.
The International Committee of the Red Cross told ArmInfo the family was repatriated in mediation of the ICRC on 12 December.
The Gevorgyans family of 5 persons crossed the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in 2010 with a goal to leave to a third country. The head of the family tried to avoid criminal responsibility in Armenia.
