In order to preserve themselves, the Armenian authorities are ready to sacrifice Nagorno- Karabakh, the secretary of the parliamentary group of the Armenian National Congress Aram Manukyan said at a parliamentary briefing on Friday.
He said that the European Parliament's last resolution was one more shame for Armenia. "It clearly says that the occupation by one country of the Eastern Partnership of the territory of another violates the fundamental principles and objectives of the Eastern Partnership. Such resolutions are the results of the ineffective policy of our authorities," Manukyan said.
He believes that Armenia is gradually losing its sovereignty. "In the 1990s we had good relations with almost all countries and none of them ever appeared with an anti-Armenian position. Today there is no single international organization that believes that Nagorno-Karabakh should be given independence on the basis of a nation's self-determination right. Under such conditions our authorities may well sacrifice Nagorno-Karabakh just to retain power," Manukyan said.
