President of Armenia Serzh
Sargsyan traveled to Goris as part of his working visit to Syunik Region,
Armenia, Thursday. According to ArmInfo's correspondent, the president visited
a local company Goris GAMMA.
The enterprise has been engaged in development and
batch production of absolute and incremental digital converters of coax for 20
years. The production is mainly
exported to Russia.
In addition, the plant produces low-power commutator
motors used in production of household goods. Director General of Goris GAMMA
OJSC Tigran Karapetyan says the plant produces special equipment for the
Russian Defense Ministry.
"A new investment project will be signed with a
German company shortly. At the initial stage, investments will total 1 million
dollars. Negotiations have been successfully competed and the enterprise will
be supplied with new machine tools for metal processing shortly," he says.
The company employs 75 people at the average4 salary
of 140,000 drams. The company's production for the 8 months of 2013 amounted to
238 mln drams, which is 23% more than a year ago.
