As much as $16bln has been taken out of the country under President Sargsyan, the head of the parliamentary group of the Armenian National Congress Levon Zurabyan said at an opposition rally on Friday.
"All of the foreign political initiatives of the ruling regime have failed. As a result, we are facing international isolation. More and more international organizations are beginning to talk about 'occupied Azeri territories.' We are living in an atmosphere of corruption, crime, poverty and humiliation. The people cannot stand this any more. Serzh Sargsyan and his party must resign and give power to legal owner, the people," Zurabyan said.
He said that the opposition suggests peaceful shift of power. "The opposition and the government should jointly consider how to do this. The ruling regime must stop reforming the Constitution and must start reforming the electoral code. We are giving it a few days. If it persists, our next meeting will be aimed at organizing all-national civil disobedience and to dismiss the regime," Zurabyan said.
