The International Compatriotic Association of Tavush Region, Armenia, has appealed to the OSCE Yerevan Office Andrey Sorokin, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative for the Republic of Armenia Bradley Busetto, and Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation to Armenia Sarah Epprecht over constant fires at the Armenian near border villages by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.
Yet in March, the Association urged the above structures to exert pressure on Azerbaijan and demand it stop firing, however, they have not responded to the appeal yet.
The Association once again asks the international structures to take immediate measures to stop ceasefire breaches on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. "Taking advantage of your inactivity, Azerbaijan again intensively fired at the villages of Movses and Aygepar on 26 June. This time, they fired at schoolchildren," the International Compatriotic Association of Tavush Region says in the appeal.
In addition, the Association warns to launch a large-scale public movement against inactivity of the above structures, unless they respond to the appeal. Furthermore, the Association is determined to force Azerbaijan stop fire. "We will form a near border brigade of volunteers in Tavush to launch the process of Tavush region's unification with the former Gazakh region of Armenia to finally resolve Tavush's problems with Azerbaijan," the Association says.
