At the telephone conference held on 5 September, Director General of South Caucasus Railway, Viktor Rebets, summed up the results of the company's activity in August of the current year.
He said that despite the record indicator of loading on 31 August - 12 173 tons, the planned indicator on transportation service was fulfilled by 94,7%, and by 91,6% versus the level of August 2012. Rebets charged the leaders responsible for this sector to study the situation in details and to draw out measures for ensuring of the traffic growing.
As for the passenger traffic, he said that in August 2013 the passenger traffic was fulfilled by 4,5% more than planned and has a positive dynamics versus 2012. Rebets emphasized the necessity of studying the passenger traffic market, in particular, the competing segment, as well as attracting new passengers.
He drew special attention at the problem of the fully-fledged using of the potential of the Gyumri locomotive and car-repair depots which were opened after reconstruction on 28 May 2013.
CJSC "South Caucasian Railway" is a 100% subsidiary of JSC "Russian Railways" and provides concession management of Armenian railroads. CJSC "Armenian Railways" was referred to the concession management to the company "SCR" according to the Concession Agreement signed on February 13, 2008. The term of the concession management is 30 years with possible extension for another 10 years.
