Tbilisi. The Georgian-Estonian Agreement on Mutual Assistance
in the Sphere of Tourism was signed
during the first official visit of the head of the Georgian government Bidzina
Ivanishvili to Estonia, the government's press-service reports on Monday,
September 9.
On Monday Ivanishvili met with Estonian
President Toomas Hendrik Ilves.
"The sides discussed issues of
bilateral and multilateral relations. Bidzina Ivanishvili expressed gratitude
to Toomas Hendrik Ilves for firm support to Georgia's territorial integrity and
Estonia's active efforts in the process of Georgia's integration into European
and Euro-Atlantic structures", is said in the statement.
The statement notes significance of visits at the highest level between the
countries for establishment of partner relations by new members of the
government with their Estonian counterparts.
On the same day, the Georgian Prime
Minister met with his Estonian counterpart Andrus Ansip. At the extended meeting the sides considered
actual issues of cooperation in different spheres. Ivanishvili stated that he
was satisfied with signing on the first days of the visit of the Agreement on Mutual Assistance
in the Sphere of Tourism.
As it was noted at the meeting, trade and
economic indexes between two countries were not high, though, there was
readiness at the governmental level to promote investments and business
relations development that would have a positive impact on trade and economic
indexes.
On the eve, on the first day of the visit,
Ivanishvili met with Foreign Minister of Estonia Urmas Paet. The sides
considered issues of bilateral cooperation and Georgia's relations with the
European Union.
Besides, on the same day Ivanishvili
visited the Estonian Information and Communication Technologies Center, where
he was present at the presentations of innovations in the sphere
of imposition and use of information and communication technologies.
During the visit to Estonia, Ivanishvili
is accompanied by Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze, Minister of Economy and
Sustainable Development, Vice-Premier Giorgi Kvirikashvili, State Minister of
Georgia for Integration into European and Euro-Atlantic Structures Alexy
Petriashvili, Director of the Georgian National Investment Agency Giorgi
Partaya and others.
