Sixteen taxi-service companies were cautioned against overcharging passengers, said Artak Shaboyan, Head of the State Committee for Protection of Economic Competition, speaking at the meeting of the Committee, Monday.
Drivers are blamed for not observing the minimum tariff charged for 5 km. Some taxies had no meters in cabins, charged 120-150 drams per km instead of 100 drams etc. The following taxi service companies have been cautioned against these and many other violations: Pink, Taxi Prestige, Taxi Manand, Taxi de Luxe City, Aygedzor, Metsn Kayzer, Huysi Karavan, Zolotoy Dyuk, HASG Trans, Kapollo, Khasuro Group, Ed & Emmy, Z&Z, Goldway. Areg Narek, and a private businessperson Hovhannisyan. The Committee will continue surveying the market to prevent violations in future and to take the situation under control.
