Deputy chairman of "Heritage" party, Armen Martirosyan, said at today's press-conference that he does not doubt that in February 2014 Yerevan authorities will again try to increase variable fare.
"However, they will hardly succeed taking into consideration civil activeness in the country", - he said. He also added that by their rash decisions the incumbent authorities always put the country against challenges. In this context, Martirosyan recalled the bargain on sale of the last 20% of shares of ArmRusgasprom to the Russian party. "This decision is an anti-state one, as it makes the country depend on a private company", - he said and added that the great majority of political parties and the Armenian society are against the "gas agreements".
On 23 December the Armenian Parliament has ratified the Armenian-Russian agreement on the terms of the purchase-sale of ArmRusgasprom's shares and the company's further activities. 77 MPs voted pro, with no votes contra and noone abstained. The parliamentary opposition tried to boycott the voting. MP Zaruhi Postanjyan stole the registration cards of the Republican MPs but the speaker suggested that they could vote by raising their hands. On 26 December the Counting Boards of the parliament recognized invalid the counting of votes during voting on the "gas agreements".
