An activist of the "I'm
Against" civic initiative, Gevorg Gorgisyan, has called on the citizens to
make no utility payments until the mechanism automatically transferring the
pension interest to the funds, is cancelled.
ArmInfo's correspondent reports that the activist has
also urged the citizens to withdraw their money from the accounts right after
they get the wages.
Gorgisyan added that the initiative will hold a mass
protest action on April 25 at 6:30 pm. However,
he did not specify the details and stressed that he wants to tickle the
authorities.
The activist pointed out that the initiative will
shortly apply to the Administrative Court of Armenia against the Central
Depositary and the State Revenue Committee. He called on all the participants
to download from the initiative's Facebook page the letter form they are going
to send to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and to demand immediately starting
to protect the constitutional rights of the citizens of the Republic of
Armenia. Gorgisyan added that the "I'm Against" initiative will
continue its actions within the limits of the law and will keep protecting the
citizens' rights.
To note, the Constitutional Court of Armenia has
declared anti-constitutional the mandatory component of the law on accumulative
pension system, however, the anti-constitutional provisions of the law will be
in force till 30 September 2014. The "I'm Against" initiative demands
that the Constitutional Court's verdict should come into effect immediately.
