Tbilisi. Ex-candidate for presidency from the former ruling
party United National Movement (UNM) David Bakradze is sure that the upcoming
Eastern Partnership Summit will be successful for Georgia.
Bakradze is in Vilnius, where the summit
will be held on November 28-29, during which the EU- Georgia Associated
Agreement is expected to be initialed.
"I hope that all decisions,
coordinated in connection with Georgia, will be in force. It will be the
successful summit for us. I do hope the official delegation, represented here,
will do everything possible not to let Georgian's position weaken and to
prevent influence of the case with Ukraine or something else on Georgia's European future",
Bakradze, a leader of the parliamentary minority, told journalists.
The supporters of Ukraine's European
integration have been holding rallies in the capital and regions of the country
since last Thursday - on that day the government announced suspension of
preparation for signing of the Associated Agreement with EU.
The EU-Georgian Associated Agreement will
be initialed on November 29 in the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry. The document is
expected to be signed in September 2014.
