Protocol of the PACE Bureau's meeting held on September 2 in Paris was approved at the PACE plenary meeting.
According to Elkhan Suleymanov, Member of Azerbaijani delegation to the PACE, a decision on preparation of report on "increase of tension in Nagorno Karabakh and other occupied territories of Azerbaijan" was passed at the meeting and the Political Affairs Committee was charged with the given task, APA reports.
According to SuleymanovЎ PACE Secretary General Voetsek Savitsky said the title of the report is sabotage against Armenia, he does not agree with the decision, and will prevent approving of Bureau protocol at the plenary meeting. According to the MP, Armenians called a decision on preparation of such report during the negotiations within the framework of OSCE Minsk Group as a sabotage and noted they are against approving of the protocol.
"Some pro-Armenian deputies also noted they support to the Armenian side and will vote against the issue. This is a serious step taking us to the victory and next stage consists of appointment of rapporteur at the Political Affairs Committee on October 1. Of course, a very big tension is inevitable here", he stressed. It is noteworthy that the Armenian delegation to PACE opposed the title of the report as soon as the discussions started. Armenian parliamentarians say such kind of report at PACE amid the peace negotiations within the OSCE Minsk Group is provocation.
