Serzh Sargsyan's foreign political decisions are based on the shadow political trade and stakes, the statement by the opposition Armenian National Congress regarding Armenia's decision to join the Customs Union says.
The authors of the document said that Armenian authorities have recently adopted several decisions regarding the Association agreement with the EU, DCFTA, as well as Armenia's joining the Customs Union and Eurasian Union.
"The entire process of negotiations on these fateful for Armenia issues was not transparent. The core and the grounds of the agreements were kept secret and were not discussed with the political forces, the community, in the National Assembly or in any other format of the public debates. And Serzh Sargsyan adopted an individual decision based on the shadow political trade and stakes", - the statement says.
ANC thinks that as a result of such non-public, self-willed and non-competent policy, distrust and tension arose in Armenia's relations with the European Union and Russian Federation, and the integration processes with them were transferred from the field of cooperation to the field of confrontation between the West and Russia for Armenia and were have gained pressure upon Armenia. "Thanks to the exceptive, changeable, non-principle and back-and-forth statements and steps by the official Yerevan, Armenia has found itself in an extremely humiliating situation and has broken its reputation at the world arena like a reliable and predictable partner (equally in Russia and in the West). This has given birth to the unprecedented threat to the security system of Armenia and Nagornyy Karabakh", - the statement says.
ANC also added that it goes on remaining a supporter of the balanced foreign policy and mutually beneficial integration processes. Moreover, restoration of the world image of Armenia and comprehensive integration processes is impossible in the conditions of preserving Serzh Sargsyan's regime, the statement says.
