Tbilisi. Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili considers
that there is a positive dynamic in relations with RF after the new authorities
came to power.
"There is a quite positive dynamic in
relations with RF and I noted that both sides had made steps", Ivanishvili
stated in the interview to Radio Svoboda on Monday.
At the same time, according to him,
Russia's actions aimed at drawing fences on the border with South Ossetia do
not correspond to the process of
relations normalization.
But he added that Russia was a huge state
and he had no claims to its behavior. "We should be principal,
constructive and diplomatic - we ought to take into consideration
reality", Ivanishvili said.
It should be noted that Georgia expressed
not once dissatisfaction with drawing barbed wire by Russian border guards on
the border with South Ossetia. Tbilisi considers this border to be only an
administrative boundary line as it does not recognize the former autonomy. In
turn, the Russian Foreign Ministry states that Tbilisi heats up artificially
passions around the situation with South Ossetia on the threshold of the
presidential elections in Georgia in October of the current year.
Ivanishvili also noted that aggravated
relations with RF were a result "of the previous authorities' incorrect
and unreasonable actions. In the Georgian premier's opinion, they do not
support the new authorities' priority aimed at normalization of relations with
RF.
