"I doubt if Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan is aware what the Customs Union is", - secretary of Prosperous Armenia Party parliamentary faction, Naira Zohrabyan, said to journalists today.
She is confident that neither the authorities nor ordinary citizens of Armenia know what they will gain from joining the Customs Union.
Another representative of the PAP, Vahe Hovannisyan, said that the policy of the leadership of Armenia on joining the integration projects is strange. "Before the known decision made by the president on 3 September, the premier said for many times that Armenia is not going to join the Customs Union. Instead of it, they were negotiating on DCFTA. I wonder, if the people wanted to join the CU, why they were negotiating around another integration programme for more than three years", - he asked. He also added that the Armenian authorities first negotiate and then decide to join this or that structure or not. As for joining the Customs Union, he thinks that if Armenia joins that, 2-3 branches of economy may disappear. "I mean just business without any political coloring", - he said.
