If we want drastic changes, we must consolidate, member of Heritage Party Ruben Hakobyan said at a rally against the compulsory accumulative pension system on Saturday.
"This is the first time that so many political forces and NGOs have come together around one problem. For final consolidation we need an agenda that will unite rather than divide us," Hakobyan said.
Member of Armenian National Congress Party Levon Zurabyan said that the Government's pension reform is contrary to the people's interests. "This is not a reform, this is a robbery. In Europe and the United States it took pension funds years to prove their honesty and efficiency. We cannot trust somebody that is trying to pocket our money, for whom this system will be just one more instrument – along with road camera, red parking lines and high gas tariffs – to rob us.
According to the World Bank, as much as 5bln AMD has been pumped out of the country under President Serzh Sargsyan and Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan. It is time for us to call them to account," Zurabyan said.
