Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan and his Kazakh counterpart Serik Akhmetov met on sidelines of the meeting of the CIS Council of the Heads of Government in Saint Petersburg on 20 November. The sides discussed perspectives of bilateral cooperation of Armenia and Kazakhstan, including opening of a direct flight Yerevan-Astana.
The Kazakh prime minister said the flight would boost business contacts of the two countries. The Armenian prime minister, in turn, recalled that the Government of Armenia wages an open sky policy to liberalize air communication and make it more competitive. The two prime ministers discussed a broad spectrum of issues of cooperation as part of the Customs Union.
The CIS Heads of the Government are expected to discuss fulfillment of the free trade agreement in the Commonwealth and current socio-economic and humanitarian problems of the CIS, on 20 November in St. Petersburg.
