Tbilisi. A delegation of the Georgian Parliament will pay the
official visit to Brussels on February 11-12 to attend a sittings of 3 Euronest
Committees (European integration via parliamentary dimension). The delegation
members will participate in the sessions of the Committees on Human Rights and
Democracy, on Energy Safety and Social Issues, on Education, Culture, and the
Civil Society. The delegation is headed by Chairman of the Committee on European
Integration Viktor Dolidze, the parliamentary press-service reports.
The Euronest Parliamentary Assembly is the
parliamentary component of the proposed Eastern Partnership. It consists of
members of the European Parliament and Parliaments of Ukraine, Moldova,
Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. After the elections in Belarus in
2010 were declared as flawed by the OSCE, the membership of Belarus in Euronest
was automatically suspended.
