Former deputy head of the National Security Service of Armenia (NSS) Romik Haroutiunyan has fled to Romania after official internal investigation was launched against him following his resignation.
A Yerevan-based Haykakan Zhamanak Daily reports that the investigation is quite promising given the significant details of the former official's activity and the real reason of his resignation.
President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan dismissed Haroutiunyan last month together with Deputy Head of the NSS Chief Department Tigran Aghajanyan. By some data,
Aghajanyan informed the country's leadership of some details of Haroutiunyan's activity, which became the reason of the latter's dismissal.
