The Armenian community of Georgia is satisfied with the results of the past presidential election in Georgia. It was a democratic and transparent election, Head of the Javakhk Compatriot Union, member of the Republican Party of Armenia Shirak Torosyan told ArmInfo on Monday.
He said that over 90% of the Georgian Armenians took part in the election. Of them 65-67% supported the candidacy of Georgy Margvelashvili. "This proves that they do care for the future of Georgia," Torosyan said.
Even though none of the candidates gave any specific promises to the Armenian community, Torosyan hopes that the Georgian authorities will show political will and will solve the problems of their Armenian citizens.
Georgy Margvelashvili from Georgian Dream Party won the Oct 27 presidential election in Georgia with 62% of the votes.
