A civil movement against illegal construction has been created in Yerevan.

The movement comprises experts, architects, lawyers and ordinary citizens, who are going to fight illegal construction projects in Yerevan and to protect their victims.

"The owners of such projects are patronized by the authorities, so, only together will we be able to prevent this activity and to save our city," said Vardan Ter-Avetyan, resident of a house subject to demolition.  

He added that most of the ongoing construction projects run counter to construction standards and ignore the public opinion.

We complained even to the President but nothing has been done so far," Ter-Avetyan said.
