The Republican Party of Armenia welcomes Raffi
Hovannisian's decision to stop his hunger strike, the secretary of the party's
parliamentary group Hovhannes Sahakyan told ArmInfo on Saturday.
He refuted the rumors that Hovannisian did it because
he was offered an office. "He is an Armenian, and we just didn't want him
to continue starving and to damage his health," Sahakyan said.
He does not rule out the possibility of one more
meeting between Hovannisian and President Serzh Sargsyan. "It would be
logical," he said.
Hovannisian stopped his action on Friday and is now
going to make a tour of Armenia so as to gather supporters before Apr 9, the
day when Sargsyan will be sworn in as President.
