Ameria Group has raised as much as 30.6mln AMD through a charity auction for children needing urgent treatment.
According to CEO of Ameriabank Artak Hanesyan, the money will be redoubled to 61.2mln AMD and will be spent on treatment of children suffering from cancer, haemotologic problems, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, etc..
The four previous auctions have raised almost 300mln AMD and have saved the lives of over 100 kids. "Support of children with serious health problems is part of our corporate social responsibility and it is our duty to have a hand in this cause," Hanesyan said.
The slogan of the auction was Sports for Life. Organized by Mega Sport and Project Hope, it had over 20 lots, including personals of famous Armenian and foreign sportsmen, including the gloves of boxers Arthur Abraham, Vic Darchinyan, Ronda Rousey and Oscar De La Hoya, balls signed by Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Youri Djorkaeff, uniforms signed by Manchester City players and Andres Iniesta, exclusive photos of Zinedine Zidane, Graziano Pelle, Diego Maradona, Cristiano Ronaldo.
The auction was attended by Olympic Champion, Greco-Roman wrestler Levon Julfalakyan, three-time Olympic Champion, gymnast Albert Azaryan, Olympic Chess Champion Tigran Petrosyan.
Among the sponsors were Mega Toys, GN Systems, Karloff Czech Brewery- Restaurant and Armenia Marriott Hotel.
