Tbilisi. Foreign Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu thinks
that the declaration, he intends to sign together with Foreign Ministers of
Georgia and Azerbaijan, will promote strengthening relations between the
countries.
The declaration is expected to be signed
during the trilateral meeting of heads of MFAs of three countries in
Batumi.
Ahmet Davutoglu arrived in Georgia on the two day official visit on
Wednesday. In the frameworks of the visit, the Turkish Foreign Minister will
meet with Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili, Chairman of the
parliament David Usupashvili and State Minister for Reintegration Paata
Zakareishvili.
On Thursday, March 28, Davutoglu will participate
in the trilateral meeting of heads of foreign political departments of Georgia,
Azerbaijan and Turkey in Batumi.
"We
are tied by long lasting friendly relations. Many Georgians reside in Turkey,
your country is our economic partner. I hope it will continue in future too.
Tomorrow we will sign a very important document, the declaration will enhance
more relations between Georgia, Turkey and Azerbaijan", Davutoglu stated
after a meeting with Foreign Minister of Georgia Maia Panjikidze on Wednesday,
March 27.
In her turn, Panjikidze said that the
sides had discussed issues of cooperation, joint regional projects and noted
necessity of visits at the highest level.
It
will be the second meeting in the trilateral format. The analogous meeting was
held in June of the last year in Turkey, in city Trabzon, where the Trabzon
Declaration was passed. The sides will sign the inter-branch action program for
2013-2015 years.
