Tbilisi. Georgian government will maintain a
principled stance on the situation in Tskhinvali region - Georgian Parliament
Chairman, davit Usupashvili, told journalists on June 3.
According to the Georgian Foreign
Minister, Russian border guards installed barbed wire fences near Ditsi
village, Gori district and Dvani village, Kareli district, bordering Tskhinvali
region (breakaway region of Georgia).
Earlier, the ministry said that barbed wire had been drawn in Didi
Khurvaleti, Gugutiantkari, Kvemo Nikozi, Tamarasheni, Dvani and Atotsi
villages, which did not allow the population to carry out agricultural works.
As official Tbilisi reported, shifting of
dividing line on certain sections deep into the territory of Georgia had been
also observed.
"It seems that there are attempts to
somehow provoke some emotional response from the new leadership. The Prime Minister already stated about that
and I would like to confirm that we will have a principled stance,"
Usupashvili said.
At the same time, stressed that in such
issues the Georgian side should act 'synchronously with the NATO and our
European and American friends."
"Asynchronous actions in 2008 showed
what consequences there might be after them. We will overcome that problem in a
different way," Usupashvili added.
