Washington inciting Armenia to national "suicide"- Russian Foreign  Intelligence Service 

ArmInfo. The US State Department has noticeably accelerated work on a set of measures to  stimulate the activity of pro-Western civil society structures in Armenia. This was reported by the press bureau of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation.

"Washington considers it important to strengthen the "guiding  influence" on the Armenian political elite in order to encourage  Yerevan, despite the inevitable difficulties, to accelerate the  process of final reorientation to a pro-Western development format,"  the FIS of the Russian Federation further says in its statement,  adding that the Americans plan to solve this problem using schemes  tested in Ukraine and Moldova.

"The "democratization" American structures affiliated with the US  State Department have been instructed to expand training courses for  representatives of key Armenian government agencies and ensure a  broad presence of foreign advisers in them to adjust the work of the  Armenian government in the interests of the West," the FIS said.

It is also noted that the task has been set to give socio-political  processes in Armenia a stable anti-Russian character.

"For these purposes, Washington intends to carry out a long-term  information and propaganda campaign, including discrediting the  prospects for cooperation between Yerevan and Russia, the EAEU and  the CSTO, distributing materials about the "oppression" of Armenian  citizens who came to our country to work," the press bureau of the  SVR of Russia continued.

"In order to achieve the "high goal" of joining the so-called  civilized community led by the United States, the Armenian people, as  they believe in Washington, will have to pay by giving up their own  traditions, national social foundations and stable trade and economic  ties with their closest partners from the EAEU that meet the  interests of Armenia, which have ensured the dynamic growth of its  economy in recent years.  Thus, Washington is persistently pushing  Armenia towards national "suicide," the SVR concluded.
