The interlocutors discussed the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the imperative for addressing the humanitarian problems caused by the 9- months-long blockade of Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as the large-scale attack carried out by Azerbaijan on September 19.
In this context, ensuring humanitarian access of relevant international organizations to Nagorno-Karabakh and in particular the unhindered operation of the ICRC, including through unimpeded movement of goods and people in both directions through the Lachin Corridor, was emphasized.

Ararat Mirzoyan stressed that the aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against the people of Nagorno- Karabakh on September 19, which was preceded by the 9-month blockade of the Lachin corridor, openly demonstrates Baku's contempt for human rights, international and humanitarian law, its own international obligations, including those assumed within Council of Europe, as well as for many targeted messages from the international community. Minister Mirzoyan reiterated the position that clear steps are needed to guarantee the security and rights of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh.
In this context, the effective use of relevant instruments by international partners, including within the Council of Europe, was emphasized.
