ArmInfo.Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova answered the question whether military assistance will be provided to Armenia in protecting its borders in the event of aggression by Azerbaijan against the backdrop of a crisis in Armenian-Russian relations.
According to her, Russian peacekeepers are in the settlement zone to prevent this from happening.
"This is why Russia is playing its mediation role, calling on all parties to implement what they signed up for," she said at a briefing on Wednesday.
On September 7, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that there was a concentration of Azerbaijani armed forces on the contact line in Nagorno-Karabakh and along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. He also announced the possible preparation of a new military provocation by Baku.
