ArmInfo. There is currently a peace process that EU Council President Charles Michel is leading with both sides, and the U.S. is "very supportive of it." According to Turan, U.S. Ambassador to the OSCE Michael Carpenter stated this during an online briefing, referring to the process of the Armenian-Azerbaijani settlement.
He recalled that Washington has just appointed a new co-chair of the Minsk Group, Philip Reeker, and is "very actively" interacting on a bilateral basis, both with Armenia and Azerbaijan, and with partners from the EU.
"Our primary task is to support the normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan, the opening of transport and communication corridors in the region, good neighborly relations, and, of course, the protection of the rights of the entire population of the region in Nagorno-Karabakh," Carpenter said.
