ArmInfo. An Armenian delegation will participate in the Ministerial Conference on Demographic Resilience themed Shaping Europe`s Demographic Future on Sofia, Bulgaria, December 1-2, 2021.
The UNFPA Armenia office informed ArmInfo that the conference 'Shaping Europe`s Demographic Future: pathways for societies to thrive in a world of rapid demographic change' is aimed at consolidating the potential of the European and Central Asian countries to respond to deep demographic changes. Many European and Central Asian countries are faced with rapid demographic changes. People have fewer children, societies are ageing, especially in Eastern Europe, where low birthrates are accompanied with high-level emigration. The conference will discuss ways to meet the challenges caused by demographic changes and the opportunities based of actual data and respect for human rights, a UNFPA report reads. The conference under the auspices of the President of Bulgaria will be attended by ministers and representatives of civil society, private sector, academic circles, etc.
