ArmInfo.During a telephone conversation, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian discussed regional security issues of mutual interest.
As reported by the press service of the RA MFA, Ararat Mirzoyan presented in detail to his colunterpart the situation resulting from the recent aggression of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Armenia. He added that another aggression of Azerbaijan against Armenia is a serious threat to the efforts to establish security and stability in the region.
Mirzoyan praised Iran's position on the territorial integrity and inviolability of the borders of Armenia.
The foreign ministers of the two countries also touched upon a number of issues of multifaceted cooperation between Armenia and Iran, expressing their readiness to make efforts to further deepen relations. The importance of high-level mutual visits was emphasized.
The interlocutors exchanged views on expanding ties in the trade, economic, infrastructure and energy sectors.
They also noted the importance of the implementation of work on a multilateral agreement on the establishment of an international "Persian Gulf-Black Sea" transport corridor.
