ArmInfo. On November 23, the Parliament of the Netherlands adopted two resolutions on the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as on the Armenian captives.
According to the Armenian Embassy in the Netherlands, in one of the resolutions, the parliament calls on the government, together with the EU, to conduct an independent investigation of the facts of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan and to report the results to the parliament as soon as possible.
The second resolution mentions serious problems of human rights, freedom of speech and freedom of the press in Azerbaijan, which are further exacerbated. The resolution also touches upon the issue of Armenian prisoners of war held by Azerbaijan to this day.
Taking into account the participation of Azerbaijan, a country far from the values of the European Union, in the Eastern Partnership summit scheduled for December 15, the Dutch parliament calls on the government to draw conclusions regarding the above-mentioned situation during the negotiations between the EU and Azerbaijan within the framework of the EaP.
