ArmInfo. On November 17, the RF Ministry of Defense made proposals on the preparatory stage of delimitation and demarcation of the borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated this on November 18 at a government meeting.
Pashinyan recalled that yesterday, during the government hour, he said from the rostrum of the parliament that in May of this year he was ready to sign "the document on the table at that moment on the beginning of the delimitation and demarcation of the border with Azerbaijan." After May, Russia three times, including the so-called "declassified document", came up with a corresponding proposal, in all three cases the Armenian side agreed to move forward in this process, he noted.
"After my yesterday's statements, the Russian Defense Ministry came up with proposals on the preparatory stage of delimitation and demarcation. I want to confirm that these proposals are acceptable to us. Mr. Papikyan, check the details with your Russian counterpart in order to try to implement these proposals," said Nikol Pashinyan.
Yesterday, in parliament, Pashinyan recalled that both during the pre-election period and after he said that he attached importance to the beginning of the process of delimitation and demarcation of the border and bringing this process to completion. "In my opinion, the process did not budge due to the absence of a response from Azerbaijan or the delay in the process on its part. Yesterday, at the Security Council, I also noted the importance of a peaceful resolution of the situation on the border, and the proposals we made earlier remain in force, including with regard to the start of the process of delimitation and demarcation of the border," the Prime Minister said.
