ArmInfo.During his last visit to Azerbaijan, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke about stability in the region in connection with the ceasefire. Turkish Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar said this in response to a question about demining the territories of Nagorno-Karabakh, which came under the control of Azerbaijan as a result of last year's large-scale military aggression.
"In the current situation, it is important for all parties to sit at the table and talk about how to make the ceasefire stable, to secure stability so that people live in confidence and prosperity. Turkey offers constructive, open to dialogue ways to resolve this issue," he noted, adding that Turkey expects only stability in the region.
"From the first day of the announcement of the ceasefire, the Turkish Armed Forces started demining. As the mines are cleared, the areas become safer, more accessible for agriculture and life," Akar said, APA reports.
The Turkish Defense Minister stressed that contacts are underway for Armenia's providing landmine maps.
