ArmInfo.Armenia is ready to start the process of demarcation and delimitation of borders, waiting for positive signals from Azerbaijan. Security Council Secretary of Armenia Armen Grigoryan stated this on October 28 after a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers
"We are ready to start the process of delimitation and demarcation, we are ready to discuss all the proposals of the working group," he said. According to him, one of the important approaches for this is a mirror withdrawal of the troops of Armenia and Azerbaijan, the deployment of border guards of the two countries in specific territories, after which it will be possible to start the process. At the same time, as the Security Council Secretary pointed out, nothing in this direction is planned until November 10.
When asked what prevents the start of the process of delimitation and demarcation, Grigoryan replied that "there are no obstacles for the Republic of Armenia at the moment." "We have announced that we are ready to begin the process of delimitation and demarcation. We are waiting for a positive impulse in this part from Azerbaijan," he said, adding that in September Azerbaijan announced this at the UN, but the process is not progressing.
Answering the question whether the requirement for the withdrawal of Azerbaijani troops could be a precondition for the start of the process, Grigoryan answered that it was difficult to say why Azerbaijan did not start the process of demarcation and delimitation.
