ArmInfo.A regular meeting of the Council of Foreign Minisers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS CFMis being held in Minsk, in which Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan is also participating.
During today's meeting, the members of the Council will exchange views on topical issues of the international agenda and interaction in the Commonwealth format, adopt a Joint Statement on Strengthening the Convention on the Prohibition of Biological and Toxin Weapons, discuss draft statements submitted for consideration by the heads of state in connection with the 30th anniversary of the CIS, on cooperation in the field of migration, on ensuring biological safety.
The ministers will also consider the draft Agreement on the formation of the Council of Presidents of the Supreme (Higher) Courts of the CIS member states, the conclusion of which will serve to further develop interstate legal cooperation in the judicial sphere and expand the mechanisms for providing mutual legal assistance between the judicial bodies of the Commonwealth countries.
In the context of incessant attempts to falsify history, the ministers will approve the Regulation on the International Association (Commission) of Historians and Archivists of the CIS countries, the main tasks of which will be an objective and impartial assessment of the events of our common past, facilitating the expansion of access to archival documents and coordinating the work of scientists.
A number of documents in the cultural, humanitarian and law enforcement fields will be agreed upon, as well as the Plan for multi-level inter-ministerial consultations within the CIS for 2022 will be approved.
A number of draft documents adopted as a result of the event will be submitted for approval by the Council of CIS Heads of State on October 15, 2021
