ArmInfo.Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan held a telephone conversation with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. As reported by the press service of the RA Prime Minister, the parties detailed a wide range of regional and issues of mutual interest.
The process of implementing the agreements reached within the framework of the trilateral statements of November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021, in particular, the return of prisoners and the resumption of the activity of regional roads, was touched upon.
They discussed current and prospective issues of bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy and defense. In the context of the current situation in the region, Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the key role of Russia in maintaining peace and stability. The parties stressed the importance of the activities of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.
According to the Kremlin press service, the telephone conversation took place at the initiative of the Armenian side. Topical issues of Russian-Armenian cooperation in trade, economic, energy, humanitarian and other fields were considered.
"The situation around Nagorno-Karabakh was discussed. The topic of unblocking transport and economic ties in the region was also touched upon. It was agreed on further contacts at various levels," the Kremlin said in a statement.
