ArmInfo. By its decision of July 17, the Constitutional Court of Armenia once again fixed that the early parliamentary elections on June 20 were held in accordance with all standards of democracy and reflected the will of the people. This was announced on July 22 at a government meeting by acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.
The acting Prime Minister recalled that according to the assessment of international observing organizations, all participants in the pre-election race had equal opportunities for campaigning, and the elections were in accordance with the principles of democracy. Thus, the parliament of the 8th convocation will have 107 MPs: the "Civil Contract" party will have 71 mandates, the "Hayastan" bloc - 29, the "I Have Honor" bloc (Republican Party of Armenia and Arthur Vanetsyan's "Hayrenik" party, Ed. note) - 7, he added. "I congratulate all of us on the holding of fair and fair elections in a crisis environment. I congratulate the "Hayastan" and "I Have Honor" on election to the Parliament. For the first time in the history of Armenia, elections have become a way to overcome the internal political crisis, while earlier, on the contrary, they generated a crisis," Pashinyan emphasized.
The acting head of government also recalled "a number of important accents" in the decision of the Constitutional Court, in particular, about the inadmissibility of propaganda of violence and hatred. In this regard, he assured that the elected authorities are disposed for a constructive dialogue based on mutual respect and for the good of the country.
Extraordinary parliamentary elections in Armenia were held on June 20. According to the election commission, three political forces entered parliament: the Civil Contract party - 53.92% (687,251 people), the "Armenia" bloc - 2 1.04% (268,165 people), the "I Have Honor" bloc - 5.23% ( 66 633 people).
