ArmInfo.Azerbaijan will take part in NATO "Agile Spirit 2021" military exercises in Georgia.
As the website of the European Command of the US Armed Forces reports, the training exercises will be held from July 26 to August 6. In addition to Georgia and the United States, servicemen from 13 NATO countries and partner states of the alliance will take part in them. In particular, among them are: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Germany, Poland, Romania, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine, Italy and Azerbaijan. Most of the contingent participating in the maneuvers will be the Georgian military - about 1600 soldiers and officers, about 700 troops will arrive for the exercises from the European military units of the United States. In total, more than 2.5 thousand military personnel will be involved in the exercises. The training maneuvers include command post training, field training and live-fire exercises.
Agile Spirit enhances the readiness and interoperability of U.S. forces, Georgia, allies and regional partners. The leitmotif of the teachings is Strength through Partnership.
This is the first exercise when air operations at the Georgian training ground in Sorta will be combined with the participation of the military of Georgia, the United States, Great Britain, Romania and Poland. In total, the maneuvers will take place in five places on the territory of Georgia.
