ArmInfo.Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan met with the leader of the Azatakan (Liberal - ed. note) party, former secretary of the Artsakh Security Council, former commander of the Defense Army Samvel Babayan. This was reported by the press service of the government.
According to the source, during the meeting, Nikol Pashinyan expressed regret that Babayan's party had failed to overcome the barrier required to enter parliament. "I initiated today's meeting in order to hear your opinion on further political processes, and what formats do you see as possible in order for the extra- parliamentary opposition and the government to be mutually audible to each other, what opportunities do you see in all this," said Pashinyan.
In turn, Samvel Babayan noted: "Armenia has high hopes that you will ensure development, protection. I have already congratulated the other 2 political forces, because in the current conditions we must unite. The future requires us to do just that. Everyone should put aside their ambitions, try to interact in the name of our statehood and the future. "
At the same time, Babayan expressed confidence that internal stability can solve big problems if everyone realizes that the interests of the state should be above all.
At the same time, he pointed out the imperfection of the legislative base and its ambiguity, calling it a serious problem. In this regard, he called on the head of government to pay special attention to this in the future.
According to the source, the interlocutors also discussed issues related to capacity building, pooling of abilities and prospects for further cooperation.
