ArmInfo. Acting Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held political consultations with Edmon Marukyan, head of the Bright Armenia party, which won 1.22% of the vote (15,571 people) in the early elections.
According to the press service of the government, Pashinyan expressed regret that the party did not get into parliament (to get into the National Assembly, it was required to overcome the 5% threshold - ed. note). He asked to share his thoughts on the future course of political processes, and how he envisions cooperation with the government and extra-parliamentary forces.
Edmon Marukyan stated that the party will continue to defend the values that are at the core of the party. He expressed hope that the newly formed parliament and the holding of elections will become the basis for overcoming the internal political crisis in the country.
The interlocutors also discussed issues related to the consolidation of potential and further cooperation. On June 20, early parliamentary elections were held in Armenia, as a result of which three parties entered the new convocation of the National Assembly of Armenia. Thus, in the National Assembly of the 8th convocation, the "Civil Contract" party will have 72 mandates, the Hayastan (Armenia) bloc - 27, the "I Have the Honor" bloc - 6 mandates.
After summing up the preliminary results, the "Bright Armenia" Party issued a statement in which it expressed gratitude for each vote and assured that each vote cast by it would continue to serve the interests of the Republic of Armenia. "The Party will continue to participate in all political processes in Armenia and is preparing for the forthcoming elections to local self-government bodies," the statement said. Yesterday at the rally, acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that he was starting political consultations with all political forces that are ready to conduct a dialogue in the name of the future of Armenia.
