ArmInfo. A meeting of Armenian and Georgian customs officers took place at the Bagratashen checkpoint.
As reported by the press service of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, the delegation headed by Deputy Chairpersons of the RA State Revenue Committee Shushanik Nersisyan and Ashot Muradyan received a delegation headed by Deputy Head of the Revenue Service under the Ministry of Finance of Georgia Vladimer Khundadze at the checkpoint.
The agenda of the working meeting included such issues as the exchange of experience and cooperation in the customs sphere in a difficult year caused by the coronavirus pandemic. During the meeting, the parties discussed the issue of more efficient exchange of electronic data between Georgia and Armenia, associated with international transport of vehicles and goods.
The parties agreed to intensify cooperation between the specialized divisions of the two countries, which in turn will have a positive effect on the process of identifying cases of violation of customs rules and faster resolution of problems. It is planned to discuss in more detail technical issues of joint work within the framework of videoconferences of experts of the two partner structures.
The interlocutors expressed their readiness to step up practical steps to complete the process of Armenia's accession to the Container Control Program.
