ArmInfo. It took efforts from Russia to stop the bloodshed in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone, achieve a complete ceasefire, and begin the stabilization process. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin announced this on December 2 at the summit of the CSTO heads of state.
According to him, Russia followed the key agreements reached in the OSCE Minsk Group, in particular, between its co-chairs - Russia, the United States and France. At present, as Vladimir Putin noted, the trilateral statement of the heads of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan on Karabakh is being consistently implemented. Russian peacekeepers are deployed on the line of contact and along the Lachin corridor. Now it is important to jointly provide assistance to people affected by the hostilities, with the solution of humanitarian problems, with the return of refugees, with the restoration of destroyed infrastructure, with the protection of their historical, religious and cultural monuments. The Russian side, according to Putin, in coordination with Yerevan and Baku is already dealing with all these issues. "Naturally, we are interested in the involvement of all our partners, including the CSTO and the CIS, in solving humanitarian issues. We are also discussing the possibilities of cooperation with other international organizations," the Russian President said.
